Role
Digital Product Designer responsible for designing and developing the user experience (UX/UI) and information architecture.
Target
Mexican and international investors interested in the real estate market, with varying levels of experience in blockchain technology.
Objectives and Challenge
The goal of the project was to develop a digital platform that would enable the tokenization of real estate assets in Mexico, while facing the challenge of complying with Mexican regulations regarding blockchain and finance. This involved ensuring transparency and security in the management of digital assets, while also facilitating access to the real estate market for a broader audience.
Process
Research
Market Analysis
A thorough analysis of the Mexican market and current regulations on blockchain and crypto-assets was conducted. This included consultations with legal experts to ensure that all platform functionalities complied with current regulations.
User Interviews
We conducted interviews with potential platform users, including traditional real estate investors and cryptocurrency enthusiasts, to understand their needs and concerns.
Design
Brainstorming and Wireframes
Various ideas were generated for the platform’s structure, from onboarding to wallet management. The initial wireframes focused on simplicity and security, ensuring that each step of the process was clear and accessible.
Prototype and Validation
High-fidelity mockups and a navigable prototype were presented, allowing stakeholders to experience the platform before its launch. The screen designs highlighted the user flow from onboarding to managing their token portfolio.
User Testing
The prototypes were subjected to user testing to identify potential friction points in the process, particularly in critical areas such as KYC and wallet management. Several iterations were made based on the feedback received.
Legal Validation
Each design iteration was reviewed with legal experts to ensure compliance with Mexican regulations.
Results
The final solution was a robust and secure platform proposal that allows the tokenization of real estate assets, complying with all relevant Mexican regulations. The design focused on simplifying the investment process for users, emphasizing:
Onboarding and KYC
A step-by-step process that guides the user clearly, with instructions and automatic verifications to reduce approval time.
Wallet Management
An interface that allows users to manage their wallets and tokens intuitively, with integrated security measures such as two-factor authentication and advanced encryption.
Listing Offers
An easy-to-use system for real estate developers to list their properties, with the ability to tokenize assets directly from the platform.
Exchange
A feature that allows users to buy and sell tokens directly on the platform, facilitating market liquidity.
Gamification and Referrals
Gamification elements, such as achievements and rewards, that motivate users to actively participate on the platform, along with a referral system that encourages community growth.
Lessons Learned and Future Improvements
This project represented a significant challenge in balancing technological innovation with regulatory compliance. As a designer, it allowed me to delve deeper into the intersection of design, technology, and law, strengthening my ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
