INVESTOR DASHBOARD FOR AVANTUS

Client

Avantus

Role

Digital Product Designer responsible for user experience (UX/UI) and platform architecture, focusing on user segmentation based on their roles within the fund’s structure.

Target

Institutional and private investors, fund managers, and financial administrators with varying levels of experience in real estate investment and technology.

Objectives and Challenge

The project involved developing a digital platform for managing an investment fund structured in trusts, oriented towards real estate projects. The main challenge was to create an intuitive and segmented user experience that met the specific needs of three key profiles: Limited Partner (passive investor), General Partner (fund manager), and Fund Administrator (responsible for daily operations).

Process

Research

User Analysis
Interviews and workshops were conducted with representatives of each profile (Limited Partner, General Partner, Administrator) to identify their needs and expectations.

Market Study
Other fund management platforms were analyzed to identify best practices and areas for improvement.

Design

Wireframes and Information Architecture
Wireframes were designed to reflect user segmentation and the arrangement of information across different dashboards and accounts.

Prototype and Validation

High-fidelity mockups were presented, highlighting the platform’s key features, including screens for the different types of users. An interactive prototype was also developed, allowing stakeholders to experience how the different roles were handled within the platform.

Testing with Key Users
Prototypes were tested with real users from each profile to ensure that navigation and functionalities were intuitive and effective.

Iterations
Adjustments were made based on feedback, particularly in the visualization of financial data and the customization of dashboards.

Results

The final solution is a robust platform that allows different user profiles to manage and monitor the investment fund with clarity and precision. Through a user-focused narrative, it was highlighted how the platform not only facilitated the management of complex investments but also provided a powerful tool for strategic decision-making.

Key elements include:

Overview
A general view of the fund that provides a concise summary of the project’s status, accessible to all users.

Real Estate Project Dashboard
A panel that offers details on each project within the trust, customized according to the user’s profile. General Partners have access to performance metrics and project status, while Limited Partners see a simplified summary.

Investor Dashboard
A dedicated panel for investors (Limited Partners), where they can view the performance of their investments, distribution of returns, and other key indicators.

Investor Account
A space where investors can manage their profile, view relevant documents, and consult detailed financial information about their investments.

Lessons Learned and Future Improvements

This project allowed me to delve into the complexity of investment funds and the specific needs of the different roles involved. As a designer, it was an enriching experience that strengthened my ability to create customized and highly functional solutions in a regulated environment.
